A chronicle of vile and pernicious truths.
About This Blog
The right to keep and bear arms, occasional attempts at satire, frequent recourse to sarcasm, and anything else I can think of. Oh yeah, and pipe smoking. Sometimes H.P. Lovecraft. And obscure Monty Python references when applicable.

View Article  That revolver ejecting shells article
I am somewhat amused.  Even the Great One herself has jumped on the revolver ejecting shells bandwagon.

I didn't post anything about this because several others beat me to it, so what's the point?  I would point out that I have regular searches set up for references to the .357 magnum.  I rarely post anything because most of it is junk.  Some people might be amazed at the amount of misinformation and outright stupidity there is out there regarding this round.

Here are a few that have turned up lately:
1.  Son of Sam used one.  (No, he didn't.  He used a Charter Arms Bulldog in .44 Special).
2.  Dirty Harry used one.  (No, he used a .44 magnum).
3.  It was developed by the U.S. government to punch through bullet-proof vests.  (No, it wasn't. It was developed jointly by Smith & Wesson and Winchester to provide a more potent alternative to the .38 Special).

That's just a few.

In Search of the Second Amendment

The TRUE story of the American right to arms is told by some of the greatest names in American constitutional law -- professors at Yale, UCLA, Fordham, George Washington University, George Mason University, and other institutions, as well as by lifelong scholars of the Second Amendment, such as Steve Halbrook, Dave Kopel, and Don Kates.
