Contrary to popular perception, “Abdul” is not a word or name in Arabic. In Arabic, “Abdul” is completely nonsensical.How did I know that? It was covered in the Call of Cthulhu game book that I have. Lovecraft didn't really know what he was doing when he made up the name "Abdul Alhazred." But then he was only a kid at the time.
