I think the "survival knife for my athame" part is funny because I've tried to convince people for years of something kind of similar. The "witchcraft supply shops" usually carry a whole selection of unsharpened blades with pretty handles to be used as athames. What the hell is an unsharpened blade good for? I suppose this may be appropriate for some traditions, but I have a real problem with the thought of spending good money on a bad knife. I'm also more comfortable with using a blade that I'm familiar with, that I handle often. Maybe it's just me... I also once knew someone who had a bible they only carried to church, and left the one they used the rest of the time at home. When I asked about it once, they said, "Oh, that one's so old and beat up, it just doesn't look nice for church." That blows my mind... I could have understood other reasons, like not wanting anything to happen to it, but "it doesn't look nice for church"?

The compass in the top of the handle is handy for getting your circle pointed in the right direction.
