A chronicle of vile and pernicious truths.
About This Blog
The right to keep and bear arms, occasional attempts at satire, frequent recourse to sarcasm, and anything else I can think of. Oh yeah, and pipe smoking. Sometimes H.P. Lovecraft. And obscure Monty Python references when applicable.

"...the call that heralds angels..."

I've been trying to uncover the identity of a song that I heard a few years ago, and which has kind of stuck in my head, but I never knew its exact title or the guy who sang it.

I heard what I think is a remake of the song a few days ago, and this time I paid attention to the lyrics so I could try and glean the possible title of the song.

So I did a few searches and I have finally found it.

The song is "Two Penny Vengeance" by Nathan Hamilton.  It's from a 1999 album called "Tuscola."  Hamilton is a native of Abilene, TX who went to California to pursue a career in acting and writing.  A few years later he decided to focus on music instead and moved to Austin, TX to get into the music scene.

Googling up info on relatively obscure Texan singer-songwriters can sometimes be pert near impossible.  There doesn't appear to be any website that includes lyrics to this song, but at least now I know which CD to buy.

Now I can finally start putting together The Blogonomicon Official Soundtrack.  I've been putting it off because this song had to be on it, and thus far I didn't know who sang it or where to find it.

This is the song that begins:  "I laid two shiny pennies on Billy Bonney's grave..."

That this album is 18 years old.  Perhaps even harder to believe is that I still enjoy listening to it occasionally.

A few years ago when I was trying to think of a cool blog name, I considered calling this blog "I Am the One You Warned Me Of."
