A chronicle of vile and pernicious truths.
About This Blog
The right to keep and bear arms, occasional attempts at satire, frequent recourse to sarcasm, and anything else I can think of. Oh yeah, and pipe smoking. Sometimes H.P. Lovecraft. And obscure Monty Python references when applicable.

View Article  Rain on me
I have two rain gauges.  One is really big, so I can see it from the house and get an idea of the rainfall rate if/when we have a really torrential downpour.  Hey, it happens sometimes.

The other is smaller but much more precise, for measuring the usual sprinkles.

We got 2.4" of rain today, according to the small one.  Apparently the big one now has a leak, because it was empty.

Boy, that's a lot of rain.  I had a couple of reports of localized flooding across roads from some of the employees south of San Antonio.

UPDATE:  Mystery solved.  My wife had already emptied the big one.

I could waste a lot of time here:  The Nietzsche Family Circus.

Every time you refresh it pairs a random "Family Circus" comic with a random Nietzsche quote.  Some of them are just surreal, but sometimes the picture actually seems to match the quote.  Here's one I liked:

Some other goods ones:  here, here, and here.

In Search of the Second Amendment

The TRUE story of the American right to arms is told by some of the greatest names in American constitutional law -- professors at Yale, UCLA, Fordham, George Washington University, George Mason University, and other institutions, as well as by lifelong scholars of the Second Amendment, such as Steve Halbrook, Dave Kopel, and Don Kates.
