Don't you just love shiny things?
Here's another aspect. I think this one is a little more interesting. I'm lousy at visual artistry, but I'm trying.
Pictured:
Ruger SP-101, stainless steel
Remington Golden Saber .357 Magnum, nickle-plated cases
A pile of .38 Special semi-wadcutters, nickle-plated cases
Kirsten pipe, machined aircraft aluminum w/ briar bowl
Zippo pipe lighter, stainless steel
Pipe tool, stainless steel
The background is my t-shirt.
P.S. The second picture is the first one of my own creations that I've tried out as desktop wallpaper. It looks quite nice, I think.

Ugh, you use a zippo to light your pipe? Doesn't that taste horrible?
But I must admit, your juxtaposition of pipe & gun is leading me to do the same. Too bad all my guns are black plastic or stainless, with nary a woodgrain between them. Wouldn't exactly match my briar and meerschaum :) Re: Re: A Collection of Shiny Objects

I only use the Zippo for outdoors and vehicular pipe smoking. Matches just don't work too well outdoors. From experience, I prefer the Zippo to butane lighters. If you let the flame burn for a few seconds the taste is less noticeable, and it doesn't hang around long anyway once the pipe is lit.
When I'm at home, I use matches. Sometimes when I'm barbecuing I'll put a long stick into the fire until there's a good coal on the end and use that. I prefer matches or coal to the lighter, but the lighter wins with no contest for convenience and flame-power outdoors. Re: Re: A Collection of Shiny Objects
I'm more surprised that you didn't make fun of the Kirsten. I use it mostly to try out new tobaccos, since it doesn't hold the flavor of past smokes like a briar will.
