I have managed to import my old Blogspot blog into this blog.  All the old posts are uncategorized (they are simply under "Main Page"). I could have categorized them but that would probably have taken me at least a week of non-stop computer time.  It would have meant typing in the category name on 995 blog posts (that's how many were on the old blog).  However all the archives are now on this blog if anyone cares to poke through them for some reason.

My next step will be making this blog searchable, but that's a step for another day.

Recently another eponym user contacted me to ask for help with configuring his blog.  He is in India.  He said he had quit using Blogger/Blogspot because it had been blocked.  I can still access his old blog, however.  It seems that many blogs are  being blocked in India!  (Or, as NPR likes to call it:  India-the-world's-largest-democracy).  He said he had been hearing that many Blogger/Blogspot blogs had recently become inaccessible in both India and Pakistan.

Curious.

I think a few weeks ago they must have gotten in some really primo stuff, and ever since then everything has looked cool.

Fatih Sultan Mahmet at ControlArms.

He was the first sultan of the Ottoman Empire beginning in 1444.  He made extensive incursions into Europe, where he came into conflict with (among others), Prince Vlad III of Wallachia.  Prince Vlad was born in Transylvania, and was also known as Vlad Tepes, who was fond of impaling his enemies on stakes.
