A chronicle of vile and pernicious truths.
About This Blog
The right to keep and bear arms, occasional attempts at satire, frequent recourse to sarcasm, and anything else I can think of. Oh yeah, and pipe smoking. Sometimes H.P. Lovecraft. And obscure Monty Python references when applicable.

In the sad town
cold iron hands
clap the party of clowns outside
rain falls in gray far away...

Syd Barrett has died.

Thanks to No Quarters for the notice.

View Article  2006 Bulwer-Lytton winner announced
I always get a kick out of the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest for bad fiction.  Here's the winning passage:
Detective Bart Lasiter was in his office studying the light from his one small window falling on his super burrito when the door swung open to reveal a woman whose body said you've had your last burrito for a while, whose face said angels did exist, and whose eyes said she could make you dig your own grave and lick the shovel clean.
And it's a run-on sentence.  Congrats the Jim Guigli.  I have to try entering this next year.  I think the burrito section is the best part.

Some folks Battle Creek, Indiana are all in a tizzy because of this simulated weapon :

Battle Creek police are issuing new warnings to people buying simulated guns after a local security consultant found in Indiana a lighter that looks like a handgun.

"There has got to be a way to put out the word about these," said Steve Denney of Battle Creek. He bought a butane lighter at a flea market last week in Shipshewana, Ind., that appears to be identical to a .357 magnum revolver.
I gotta search ebay for this.  Although I would not use this for a lighter just anywhere, undercertain conditions wouldn't this be a cool lighter to use?  I don't think it would work for pipes, though.

Oh, and, Mr. Denny, I just put the word out for you.

Looks like G00gl3 images has finally indexed the graphics I've posted over the past...whatever.  Traffic has lurched upward.  I discovered that I never got around to moving all the Hellsing pix to a different server like I had intended to (to save bandwidth).  I'm getting massive hits from Hellsing junkies all over the world.

One cool thing, though.  Someone from France(!) came here looking for Hellsing pix, and ended up reading several of my gun-specific posts.

I'm going to have to move the Hellsing pix, hopefully today.  I'm probably going to run out of bandwidth this month because of this.

And I'm still looking for a cheap Alucard mask and prop gun for next Halloween.

In Search of the Second Amendment

The TRUE story of the American right to arms is told by some of the greatest names in American constitutional law -- professors at Yale, UCLA, Fordham, George Washington University, George Mason University, and other institutions, as well as by lifelong scholars of the Second Amendment, such as Steve Halbrook, Dave Kopel, and Don Kates.
