A chronicle of vile and pernicious truths.
About This Blog
The right to keep and bear arms, occasional attempts at satire, frequent recourse to sarcasm, and anything else I can think of. Oh yeah, and pipe smoking. Sometimes H.P. Lovecraft. And obscure Monty Python references when applicable.

View Article  Since I'll be offline this weekend...
There won't be any of the regular weekend posts.  I don't expect this to happen again.  Early this month, as I mentioned, Google images suddenly indexed every image on this site.  This caused a massive surge in bandwidth.  All the main culprits are now hosted at photobucket and I've deleted all the old images on this site that were causing the problem.  I even blocked google images even though I still get hits from google in other countries and there's nothing to stop anyone from doing a copy & paste.  Anywho, bandwidth has gone way down in the last several days, but it was so big earlier in the month that it has wiped me out for this month.

If I come across anything gun-related that I really need to mention I'll just put it up at The Gun Blogs.

Maybe I'll write up an extended post this weekend for future posting, or work on a new blog header.  I like my current header image, but I want to come up with a different one that has a different flavor just for kicks.

I feel kind of odd after trying to come up with something (anything) every day for a long time, and now it looks like I'll be idle for 4 or 5 days.  I won't know what to do with myself.

Oh yeah, I'm going to change the "recommended reading" in the sidebar, since that one has been there for a while.  I'll try to change that once per month or so, but most of the books I show there probably won't be new books, just stuff I've read that I think deserve mention.

Thanks to everyone who comes by here and reads this stuff on a regular basis.  You're all a real ego boost.

Naples Daily News:
Arbyummi testified he unhooked the safety and cocked the hammer of his father’s Remington revolver in self-defense but only accidentally pulled the trigger.
More stupidity in print, this coming from both the defendant and the reporter.

That has been noted by many gunbloggers is showing up on some non-gunblogger places, like Reformed Chicks Blabbing.  It's always interesting to see comments on articles like this from blogs aren't usually considered "gun blogs."  Michele's summation:  "This is why I want to carry a gun."

In Search of the Second Amendment

The TRUE story of the American right to arms is told by some of the greatest names in American constitutional law -- professors at Yale, UCLA, Fordham, George Washington University, George Mason University, and other institutions, as well as by lifelong scholars of the Second Amendment, such as Steve Halbrook, Dave Kopel, and Don Kates.
