A chronicle of vile and pernicious truths.
About This Blog
The right to keep and bear arms, occasional attempts at satire, frequent recourse to sarcasm, and anything else I can think of. Oh yeah, and pipe smoking. Sometimes H.P. Lovecraft. And obscure Monty Python references when applicable.

View Article  Exhaustion and heat stress
The previous sarcastic post is about all I got for today.  Work is very hard this week, and the heat isn't making it any easier.  I guess I'll catch up this weekend, but for now, I'm only going to take a shower, eat, and maybe watch something on the History Channel before I collapse.
View Article  Not the whole story
The wires and wirelesses are all a-twitter because (allegedly) more Americans can name the Three Stooges than can name the three branches of government.  But as usual, the MSM doesn't tell the whole story.

There were actually four Stooges.

Apparently Reuters is engaging in some kind of bizarre conspiracy to suppress all historical knowledge of the other brother.

View Article  Bowling Pins
Last week I was training a new guy at work and he mentioned he used to work at a bowling alley.  So, simply out of curiosity, I asked him about old bowling pins:  what happens to them--can some guy off the street just walk up and ask for them, etc.  He said he had lots of old pins at home and would bring me some.

He's not a shooter, I don't know why he has lots of pins at home.  But now I have a box of 10 bowling pins.  I guess I can make my own personal little pin shoot now.

In Search of the Second Amendment

The TRUE story of the American right to arms is told by some of the greatest names in American constitutional law -- professors at Yale, UCLA, Fordham, George Washington University, George Mason University, and other institutions, as well as by lifelong scholars of the Second Amendment, such as Steve Halbrook, Dave Kopel, and Don Kates.
