I don't know if there is such a thing, but if there is, I initiated myself today.  Feeling adventerous, or cantakerous, or something, I loaded up a pipe with the straight stuff for the drive home.

I'm still trying to think of some way to describe the flavor.  It was sort of a mildy spicy mustiness, I guess.

Although I didn't have to go look for a lost pocket knife, I did feel my salivary glands clench a lot, and my mouth watered a lot more than usual.

The smoke had a sort of nose-stinging quality.

The flavor was actually kind of bland and uninteresting.  Strike that.  Let me change that to "the flavor is somewhat monotonous but not uninteresting.

Conclusion:  Best used to flavor other blends, but smokeable straight when in the mood.  Not something I'd want to do every day, though.

UPDATE:  I didn't finish yesterday's bowl, so today I DGT'd it.  Gave it a lot more character.  Not for the faint of heart, though.
