The new blogheader has skewed the display in IE, and once again, I don't know why because it's the exact same size as the original "strip" header. Display is just fine with Firefox or Opera.

About This Blog
The right to keep and bear arms, occasional attempts at satire, frequent recourse to sarcasm, and anything else I can think of. Oh yeah, and pipe smoking. Sometimes H.P. Lovecraft. And obscure Monty Python references when applicable.

Getting a very good return, but won't be buying a gun with it. A little of it will go to buying fencing materials and bulk of it will go into savings.

Texan musician Billy Joe Shaver apparently shot someone in a bar fight:
A few hours earlier, Shaver had surrendered to local authorities after two warrants were issued for his arrest following a shooting Saturday night at a Lorena bar. He was arraigned by McLennan County Justice of the Peace Kristi DeCluitt, who set bail at $50,000.Whatever the facts of the incident were, one fact remains clear to me: He was consuming a substance that reduces inhibition and self-control while carrying a firearm. Two Texas CHL holder idiots in one week.

I've been getting a lot of search hits for this because of Jim Shepherd's review of the Taurus 4410 revolver that I posted a while back. So I finally looked it up to see what everyone was looking for.
It turns out Taurus has come out with a new model. This one has a short barrel and is made of an "Ultra-Lite" alloy. Why "The Judge?" What a name! It’s based on the fact that many judges are now carrying it into the courtroom with them – and for good reason. Are they, now? Isn't that convenient for them. "The Judge" web page at Taurus is here.

The Shooting Wire reports:
The National Safety Council has released new data that demonstrates that accidental firearms fatalities continue to remain at the lowest levels since the NSC began record keeping. In fact, over the last decade, fatalities have dropped 40 percent, from 1,225 in 1995 to 730 in 2005.A very detailed industry intelligence report has been made available by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and can be found here (pdf). |
