I have noticed that something seems different with Technorati. Anyone else notice? It looks like 25 days ago they stopped counting all the links from various blogrolls (like The Alliance, Screw the U.N., etc.). So my Technorati authority has been dropping to more realistic levels. In the past few weeks it has dropped from a high of 362 (if I recall correctly) to the current 319. I expect it to keep dropping from there for a while.
Not that this matters to me. In fact, I have long been considering trying to quit some of these extraneous blogrolls just because I know such high rankings present a false view of the extent of my readership.
And since TTLB has begun working again, I've finally dropped back to a marsupial. I always thought that "large mammal" ranking was due to some kind of indigestion in the guts of TTLB.

From the NYT--A Liberal Case for Gun Rights Helps Sway Judiciary:
“My conclusion came as something of a surprise to me, and an unwelcome surprise,” Professor Tribe said. “I have always supported as a matter of policy very comprehensive gun control.”Emphasis mine. And then they proceed to quote other liberals who read the Second Amendment out of the Constitution, just like Levinson said they do. Via John Lott. UPDATE: David Hardy comments on the same article: Of course, NY Times does give Brady Center's spin, which is FAR off the real situation, big play: "The individual rights view is far from universally accepted. “The overwhelming weight of scholarly opinion supports the near-unanimous view of the federal courts that the constitutional right to be armed is linked to an organized militia,” said Dennis A. Henigan, director of the legal action project of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. “The exceptions attract attention precisely because they are so rare and unexpected.”UPDATE 2: And still further comments here. |
